Jack Nicklaus has selected 18 of his finest holes ever made and
brought them to Las Vegas at Bear’s Best Golf Club. Opened
in 2001, Nicklaus hand-picked holes from everywhere from Arizona
to Montana, making each hole a worthy signature hole.
Holes are replicated to the finest detail. On holes 4 and 11,
black sand was imported from Montana to resemble the black bunkering
of the Old Works course. The 18th is a daunting finishing hole at
450 yards, taken from the PGA West Resort.
While the front nine is primarily flat, the back nine climbs into
the foothills more and the added movement puts even more drama into
Jack’s golf holes. The 10th hole is another replication from
PGA West and is noteworthy with its raised fairway split by a long,
deep bunker that teases with your thoughts while on the tee.
“The key to making this concept work was to take this property
here in the foothills and then let Jack pick holes from his other
courses that he had built in similar topography” explained
Director of Golf Pat Mastandre. Nicklaus got permission from the
various courses to allow golf holes to be recreated here, and he
then worked to scale those holes into this landscape so that the
same shot values would exist between the original hole and the replicated
one.”
Forecaddies are standard and do everything from calculate yardage
to rake bunkers and replace divots, making, Bear’s Best a
luxurious choice to fill out any golf package.
