Opened in 1999, Revere Golf Club in Anthem is one of the newest, elite
multi-course facilities in the southwest with the Concord and the
Lexington. Located south of Las Vegas in Henderson, these two Billy
Casper and Greg Nash designs (the duo's fifth design in Las Vegas)
are the recipient of a prime location, sitting atop one of the highest
points in the Vegas area. Revere Golf Club also has an authentic country
club feel to it, with its top-notch service and meticulous course
conditioning.
The Revere's motif is designed around Paul Revere, the well-known American revolutionary, and their mantra is appropriately "A Revolutionary Golf Experience." The philosophy of the design was to create a revolutionary golf experience for players of all skill levels and to build the course into the natural canyon landscape, providing golfers with an intimate golfing experience. The course names, Lexington and Concord, were labeled to give residents in the Anthem community and visitors to the club an elusive feeling of freedom.
The Lexington, which was the flagship course, has a bit of everything. Built in a desert canyon, the lush, 7,143-yard, par 72 course features countless natural elevation changes and beautiful views of the Las Vegas skyline. Every hole offers sweeping panoramic views. The course laces its way through dramatic desert canyons, far above the city lights. Of the 18 holes, no fewer than 16 have elevated tee boxes, many play over rugged desert canyons, and several finish at elevated greens. Water isn't a major factor, with only two holes affected, but you'll be glad you don't have that albatross to deal with also. To pick one signature hole over another would be a travesty, as each progressive hole is more picturesque than the last.
The Concord, which debuted in 2002 is slightly more forgiving than the Lexington course and shorter, but its length is still a fair 7,034 even in the desert air. In addition to its profound elevation changes, it contains multiple tee boxes and plenty of mounds that feed the ball back into the fairway, or back onto the green. This course is very rewarding for golfers. The challenge becomes with putting, but its wide fairways with large greens welcome golfers of all abilities.
Both courses may in fact be just as thrilling as Paul Revere's famous midnight ride.
